ROLAND HEINZ


Born in Sydney/Australia.Moved to Italy and later on to Austria where he founded the "Modern Art Trio".
Afterwards he joined alto saxophon legend Pony Pointexter for a tour in Germany.
The following years Heinz was performing with musicians from the european avantgarde
scene like trombonist Radu Malfatti, guitarist Gunter Schneider, trumpet player Franz Hautzinger and bassist Elmar Guantes.
After touring with Barre Phillips, drummer Billy Elgart and saxophonist Leszek Zadlo througth Europe he recorded his highly praised first album "Heavy Mental".
He moved to New York to study and work with Attila Zoller and John Abercrombie. Currently performing and recording in Europe and U.S. with musicians like Russ Lossing (CD "Places"), Loren Stillman, Scott Lee and Jeff Hirshfield (CD "Present Tales")....... .
He wrote and performed numerous compositions for jazz ensambles, orchestra and guitar ("Travel 201"), saxophon quartet ("Foehn"), ("ten for one")....

Rodrigo Amado

Rodrigo Amado é uma força indiscutível no universo do jazz moderno. Destacado como um dos grandes nomes da música de improvisação europeia, o saxofonista português figura recorrentemente nas listas de melhores músicos jazz do mundo: em 2023, foi eleito pela prestigiada El Intruso International Critics Poll como o melhor saxofonista tenor, numa lista que contava com músicos como James Brandon Lewis, Charles Lloyd e Ingrid Laubrock. Com uma técnica imaculada e uma expressividade sonora fascinante, Amado é um mestre do saxofone que abraça toda a liberdade que o free jazz e a música de improvisação lhe possibilita. “Se estamos a trabalhar do nada, podemos estar focados a 100% no momento”, contava o músico ao Bandcamp Daily, em 2018.
Seja a solo, em trio ou quarteto, Rodrigo Amado destaca-se em todos os contextos e formações. Ativo há quase duas décadas, encabeça Motion Trio, com Miguel Mira e Gabriel Ferrandini, integra o Humanization 4tet, com Luís Lopes, Aaron Gonzalez e Stefan Gonzalez, e lidera o muito celebrado This Is Our Language Quartet, com os norte-americanos Joe McPhee, Kent Kessler e Chris Corsano.

Masa Kamaguchi

Kamaguchi, Masa 1966 Wakkanai City, Japan. Born in the northernmost city in Hokkaido. Masa was inspired to take up the electric bass at age 14 after listening to record of Jaco Pastorius. In 1985 he moved to Tokyo to attend the Hosei University where he studied engineering but also took up the acoustic bass, studying privately with Yoshio Ikeda, himself a former student of Gary Peacock. In 1990, Masa moved to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music, and proceeded to study with drummer Joe Hunt. While based in Boston, Kamaguchi was demand by many of area's great musicians, including Geoge Gazone, Bert Sieger, Hal Crook, Herb Pomeroy and Frank Carberg. also during this time in Boston, Masa toured Europe and Scandinavia, on several occasions. In 1994, Masa moved to New York City where he is much in demand by many groups, performing with such lumininaries as, Frank Kimbrough, Sonny Simmons, Ben Monder, David Murray, Toots thielmans,Tony Malaby, Charles Gale, and many others. recording credits with Frank Kimbrough, Paul Motion, Ron Horton, Dave Douglas, Sonny Simmons, Tony Malaby, John O'allager, Russ Lossing, Billy Mintz and many others.
in 2006, Masa moved to Barcelona, while he keeps strong connection with NY musicians also he started to play with europian musicians, such as Albert Bover, Perico Sambeat, Albert Sanz, Sara Serpa.

An acutely intutive player, Masa brings an indivisual sound and fresh perspective to the acoustic bass. his rich warm tone and modern style define his individuality. Kamaguchi is a versatile player, at home with a truly wide range of musical influences, that translate into his brilliant concept.

MARCELO ARAÚJO


Is a professional drummer with over 20 years of experience in the world of music. He played with several musicians in different musical styles (Hermeto Pascoal, Naná Vasconcelos, Ira Coleman, Tom Harrel, Cyro Baptista, Troy Davis, Leo Espinosa, Victor Zamora, Big Band from Hot Clube de Portugal, among many others) throughout his career, but its main essence is improvisation, having also integrated formations and bands such as Paulo de Carvalho, Marcelo D2, Aline Frazão, Lura, or Pablo Lapidusas Internacional Trio».
He also participated in festivals in Portuguese-speaking countries such as Angola, Brazil and Mozambique and others such as Holland, France, England, Austria, Spain, Nigeria, South Korea, Senegal, or India.
Marcelo Araújo is open to listening to all participants (amateurs and professionals) and to clarifying any doubts in what promises to be «a beautiful meeting of sharing and ideas».
Despite having attended professional education in classical percussion and a degree in jazz at the Lisbon Higher School, the musician considers himself, «above all, a self-taught», having integrated, as a professional and from an early age, at the tender age of 11 years old, the formations of which his father was part.
